All families of children who have been sexually abused receive the help that they need to move on positively with their lives.

Our Mission

To provide support in a safe and non-judgmental environment for non-abusing parents and carers whose children have been sexually abused.

SERVICES OFFERED
  • National Helpline: Provides a safe space, listening ear and valuable support for non-abusing parents, carers and professionals.

  • Counselling: Non-abusing parents and carers are supported by therapists to rebuild confidence, alleviate isolation, and gain the skills needed to safeguard themselves and their children, preventing further abuse. Our counselling service is offered online and face-to-face.

  • Advocacy & Advice: Our tailored support includes: Dealing with criminal and family court proceedings – preparation, assessments, attending hearings; Advocating with third parties such as Child and Family Court Advisory Support Service, Social Services, police officers and lawyers; Support with specific issues - divorce, debt, housing and education.

  • Play Therapy: Children aged 4-18 years are supported by expert therapists to make sense of their traumatic and confusing experiences in a safe supportive environment.

  • Workshops for Parents: We offer a range of workshops for non-abusing parents with topics including safeguarding their children, supporting their child’s healing, and confidence/parenting skills. These are delivered on a one to one basis or in a group setting.

  • Training for Professionals: Our specialist training offers professionals the opportunity to further their understanding of child sexual abuse and increase their understanding of the impact of long-term manipulation by perpetrators on the whole family.

    Survivors of Abuse - Suvivors Trust London

    About:

    SOB raises awareness of the impact of child abuse on the survivors’ mental and physical health.

    SOB empowers victims and survivors to take control back over the lives through their Breaking The Cycle C.L.E.A.N.E.R. Living Therapy programme. 

    This programme is based on adverse childhood experiences and takes a trauma-informed health and wellness approach to recovery.

    It helps build resilience and improve both mental and physical health for the long term.

    • Half-day Introductory workshops and 8 Week - half-day -  courses for survivors.

    • Continued online peer to peer support for survivors who have attended our courses.

    • Trauma informed health and wellness programmes for 3rd sector staff members who offer services to survivors.

    Watford Rape Crisis & Sexual Abuse Centre - Survivors Trust London

    About:

    Watford Rape Crisis & Sexual Abuse Centre in South West Hertfordshire.

    This agency provides a helpline supported by trained volunteers and volunteer counsellors.

    These dedicated and experienced volunteers, offer support to anyone over the age of 16yrs, who has experienced sexual violence or abuse, at any time in their lives.

    SERVICES OFFERED
    • For Women and girls who have been raped, sexually assaulted or experienced childhood sexual abuse

    • We offer telephone support for men who have been raped, sexually assaulted or experienced childhood sexual abuse.

    • WRC & SAC runs a helpline primarily for women who have been raped or sexually abused. They offer support, telephone, and face to face services, which is non-judgemental and sensitive to the individual’s needs, no matter where or when the assault took place.

    • While WRC & SAC  do not offer face-to-face support to male survivors, they do offer telephone support, and contact details of appropriate support organisations.

    Survivors UK

    About:

    SurvivorsUK supports men, boys and non-binary people aged 13+ who have experienced sexual violence.

    We provide one-to-one counselling services, groupwork counselling, an independent sexual violence advisor (ISVA) service, the National Online Male Survivors Helpline and Webchat service and a civil law clinic. 

    SurvivorsUK also supplies training to counsellors and frontline workers likely to come into contact with this client group to ensure a robust and sensitive service provision is widely available.

    About:

    Founded in 1991, Respond is a national charity providing therapeutic and support services to people with learning disabilities, autism or both who have experienced abuse, violence or trauma.

    We are committed to bringing about positive change for our clients and their families, enabling them to lead richer and more resilient lives.

    We provide a range of trauma-informed services for children, young people, adults and professionals. These include psychotherapy, advocacy, campaigning and other support services which aim to prevent abuse and equip individuals and their families to come to terms with their experiences and live more positive lives.

    The London Centre for Personal Safety (LCPS) is a registered charity with over thirty-two years of experience of providing personal safety and self-defence training. .

    Into The Light offers counselling, information, support and resources for Survivors of sexual abuse and those that support them.

    Haven Network, for Survivors of Sexual Abuse

    About:

    Haven is a survivor-led organisation that offers confidential one to one counselling and support for female and male victims and survivors or anyone who has been affected (i.e: families /partners) by sexual abuse or domestic violence.

    Haven offers both telephone and email support as well as fortnightly women’s support groups (12 sessions). We also have a monthly coffee drop–in for victims/survivors who otherwise would feel isolated or need information or advice.

    Aurora Foundation for People Abused in Childhood

    Specialist therapy service for men and women adult victims of childhood abuse currently offering distance counselling (via Zoom or Skype) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • The Aurora Foundation for People Abused in Childhood (Aurora) is a registered charity, Specialist Therapy Centre and therapeutic community that provides counselling/psychotherapy and support specifically for adult men and women survivors of childhood trauma and abuse.
    • Services are usually offered within a warm, peaceful, respectful and healing environment but currently provided remotely.
    • Many of the Aurora Team are survivors themselves or supporters of survivors. Clients make monetary contributions for their therapies to help keep the service going. The costs are kept as low as possible to help widen accessibility.

    ANBU UK (Abuse Never Becomes Us UK) supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the Tamil community.

    We envision a future where Tamil people who have been impacted by childhood sexual abuse can find their voice.

    ANBU UK’s mission is to provide healing and empowerment through holistic support, resources and advocacy on behalf of Tamil people impacted by childhood sexual abuse in the form of advocacy, outreach and social media platforms.

    ANBU UK takes a holistic approach to provide intervention support in what is a complex, unexplored and underfunded contextual environment (within the Tamil/South Asian community). Exploring traditional and non-traditional approaches to healing.

    • Preschool CAP: As the young child is at high risk for victimization, the CAP preschool program sets a strong foundation for ongoing prevention education in each preschooler’s life.
    • Kindergarten CAP: Kindergarten workshops are implemented by three facilitators in two 60 minute programs on two consecutive days. 
    • Elementary CAP: Elementary workshops are one hour classroom workshops facilitated by three CAP facilitators.
    • Teen CAP: The TeenCAP program is designed for adolescents, and presented by a male and female facilitator in three 40-45 minute classroom periods.
    • Special Needs CAP: Special needs presentations are designed for cognitively impaired students in the intermediate grades.
    • Bullying Prevention Program: A whole-school approach to the problem includes workshops for school staff, parents and students
    Survivors Together - survivors trust london

    About:

    Established in 2008, Survivors Together is a therapeutic social group for female survivors of sexual abuse. 

    The group is for women of all ages but we also have a Young Women’s Group for women aged 16-25.

    Based in East London, our main purpose is to provide a relaxed environment where woman survivors can socialise and try new activities as part of a healing journey, with people who understand.

    SERVICES OFFERED
    • Our meeting activities include writing, poetry, crafts, Thai chi, guest speakers, mindfulness and other coping techniques.
    • While COVID-19 kept us at home, we found other ways to keep in touch, like our members-only Facebook group, regular zoom meetings and virtual afternoon tea parties.
    • Yvonne (our Director) meets new members individually (via zoom or in-person where practical) before welcoming them to the group. She has an enormous understanding of the issues involved and what resources are available

    Supportline - Survivors Trust London

    About:

    SupportLine is a registered charity working with children, young people and adults throughout the UK.  

    The service is primarily aimed at those who are vulnerable, at-risk, isolated and victims of any form of abuse.

    The charity works with callers to develop healthy, positive coping strategies, an inner feeling of strength and increased self-esteem to encourage healing, recovery and moving forward with life. 

    Much of SupportLine’s work involves supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. The charity also keeps details of counsellors, agencies and support groups throughout the UK
